This is an experiment. I normally play a Stiff shaft--and I still do throughout the set. But I was building this shaft to see if I could simulate the Autoflex. So I went down two flexes (from Stiff to Senior) and about 10g lighter. It seems to have worked. I'm getting about 10 yards (total) more and my dispersion has narrowed. The only downside is that the feel at impact is muted. Another upside is that it doesn't feel any whippier, even though it must be.
On the sale, the price was great, the availability (including the sleeve for my Titleist and the Winn grip) was fine, the build was exact, and the shipping was pretty prompt.
There is NOTHING about this process that wasn't perfect. Five stars, indeed.
Nice smooth shaft. Quick shipping. Would purchase again.
I found The Golf Club Trader on Ebay and ended up going directly through the website. The fact that they include trimming, an adapter, and a grip for the listed price is a screaming deal, and the turnaround time and quality of installation were all fantastic. Unfortunately, I don't think the shaft will be the right fit for my swing, but that's entirely on me, and I would not hesitate to buy another shaft from you guys.
Just for reference, I've been playing a Kuro Kage Silver TiNi in an X-Flex, and I was looking for something with a bit more launch. Based on all the reviews I read on this shaft, I thought it would be a fairly easy-to-load shaft (even in the 6.5X flex), but that does not seem to be the case, and I think it's just too stiff for me (105-110 mph clubhead speed). In hindsight, I guess I should have gone with the S flex.
